Vet techs are a great resource to veterinarians because they can help with many day-to-day duties. These duties include things like drawing blood, helping with surgery, and giving medications to the animals in their care. This makes a veterinarian’s job easier, allowing them to focus on making a plan to provide the best treatment.
A Calming Force
When a pet is in a veterinary clinic, they can be a bit confused about their surroundings. This is why pets often get scared when receiving treatment, leading them to growl, bite or scratch the people who are trying to help them.
Many veterinary technicians, in a quest to be the best they can be, choose to go to school in order to increase their knowledge and perfect their skill in this profession.

One of the duties handled by vet techs is communicating with clients on behalf of the veterinarian. This means that they have to be adept with both pets and pet parents… not an easy job!
Veterinary technicians are there to reassure pet parents and keep them updated. They work to keep the client informed on the status of their pet, what treatments are available and to reassure an anxious pet parent.
Like everybody, vet techs deal with their own problems, yet they remain a friendly face that greets every pet and client that walks through the door. This is because they not only love pets but truly love their jobs.
